Stefan A. Borovina Discusses 2023 Workplace Safety Priorities with Newsday

January 6, 2023

Stefan A. Borovina, a partner in Goldberg Segalla’s OSHA and Worksite Safety practice group, recently spoke with Newsday regarding OSHA regulations, priorities, and safety programs in 2023.

“I think workplace stress is definitely on OSHA’s radar,” Stefan said, explaining that OSHA must show that a mental-health issue and stress is work-related, which could be difficult even under the general-duty clause. He also noted employers should still be mindful of workplace stress, and to seek out OSHA resources to address the issue.

Stefan further encouraged employers to review the top 10 hazards list for fiscal year 2022, as the list does not necessarily change year-to-year and will provide employers insight into relevant hazards in 2023.
