Former star NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III opened eyes with his dynamic play on the football field over the course of his seven-year career -- but it’s the words in his new book “Surviving Washington” that are turning heads this week.

RG3 announced the August 2022 release of his inaugural authorship, alongside former New York Daily News writer Gary Myers, and the pre-released quotes are seriously raising eyebrows. For starters, the former Washington Football Team Rookie of the Year acknowledged that he was a victim of sexual harassment during his time with the club.

While some initially thought he was referring to a 2020 Washington Post report on the organization’s dealings with issues involving sexual harassment, it appears he was only speaking of his own ordeals.

“Sexual harassment victims should share their stories when they are ready not when you want them to. The book is not about other people’s experiences with sexual harassment in Washington. Its about my experience with sexual harassment in Washington. Hopefully you will listen,” Griffin wrote in a tweet last week.

The book will reportedly also delve into the dysfunctional franchise’s “mismanagement” of his infamous torn ACL in 2012, and the power struggle between embattled team owner Dan Snyder and former legendary coach Mike Shanahan.

Griffin spent last season as a backup for the Baltimore Ravens before announcing his retirement and inking a deal to serve as an analyst for ESPN. The former No. 2 overall pick spent the first four seasons of his career in Washington.

“I’m gonna detail the medical mismanagement that I received during my time in Washington. I’m gonna open your eyes to the sexual harassment that permeated the walls of that building. And give you a deep dive into a power struggle between one of the most powerful coaches in all of sports and an owner that many of you want gone. They say, ‘The truth will set you free,’ so here it is, unfiltered,” concluded Griffin’s promotion.
