Marlo Johnson Roebuck of Jackson Lewis Elected Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers

New York, NY (July 14, 2020) Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the country’s preeminent workplace law firms, is pleased to announce that Marlo Johnson Roebuck - Managing Principal of the firm’s Detroit and Grand Rapids Offices - has been elected a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers in the Class of 2020. 

The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers is a non-profit professional association honoring the leading lawyers nationwide in the practice of Labor and Employment Law. The Fellows of the College are recognized as distinguished members of the labor and employment community who promote achievement, advancement and excellence in the practice by setting standards of professionalism and civility, sharing their experience and knowledge, and acting as a resource for academia, the government, the judiciary and the community at large. The Fellows are dedicated to the study and enhancement of civility and professionalism in the practice of Labor and Employment Law and to the improvement of the delivery and quality of labor and employment legal services.

Ms. Roebuck has more than 20 years of legal experience and represents employers on the myriad of laws governing the workplace, including Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act. She is an experienced litigator and employment law adviser to employers of all sizes. Ms. Roebuck frequently represents employers in the healthcare, financial, professional services, automotive, retail, real estate, higher education, manufacturing and life science industries from internal investigations all the way through trial and appeal. 

Ms. Roebuck has attained summary judgment and no cause verdicts at trial and arbitration on behalf of clients, as well as procured reasonable settlements in mediation. Her extensive workplace law practice also includes a focus on the matrix of laws governing the privacy, security, and management of data. Ms. Roebuck also trains senior leadership and human resource professionals on maintaining compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity policies and is a frequently sought after contributor, speaker, and author on preventing unlawful harassment, making religious accommodations, handling tricky terminations, employment law remedies, and best practices in hiring and inclusivity in the workplace. 

Ms. Roebuck is a Chambers and Partners ranked attorney and is Co-Chair of the firm’s African American Attorney Resource Group. She earned her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law and earned her B.B.A. from the University of Michigan.
