Littler Welcomes Back Shareholder Laurent Badoux in Phoenix

PHOENIX (May 1, 2023) – Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has added Laurent Badoux as a shareholder in its Phoenix office. Badoux, who was an attorney and shareholder with Littler from 2002 to 2013, rejoins the firm from Buchalter, where he led the Arizona Labor & Employment practice group.

“Laurent brings more than 25 years of experience counseling employers on both domestic and international labor and employment matters, which directly aligns with our focus on being local everywhere and serving as a first-stop shop for clients in the many jurisdictions in which they operate,” said Erin Webber, Littler’s managing director and president. “We are always happy when we can welcome people back ‘home’ to Littler and are thrilled to have Laurent rejoin us. We know that our teams in Phoenix and offices around the globe will benefit from his skills and insights.”

Badoux advises private and public sector employers in a range of employment law matters, including compliance with wage and hour and employee compensation laws, labor management relations, and human resources issues that come with movement of personnel across borders. His international practice includes conducting compliance audits and preventive training, as well as drafting employment policies and domestic and foreign employment and consultancy agreements. Domestically, Badoux also conducts workplace investigations and counsels clients on various matters that arise in the employer-employee relationship, such as wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, trade secrets and restrictive covenants, and breach of contract.

“As Phoenix continues to see significant economic growth, the addition of accomplished lawyers like Laurent further bolsters our offerings not only to local employers, but to those relocating their operations in Arizona,” said Kristy Peters and Andrea Lovell, office managing shareholders of Littler’s Phoenix office, in a joint statement. “We join our colleagues in Phoenix and worldwide who worked with Laurent during his previous tenure at Littler in celebrating his return to the firm.”

In addition to his counseling practice, Badoux is an experienced litigator who defends clients in class and collective actions, collective bargaining agreement arbitrations and negotiations, and unfair labor practice trials. He regularly appears in state and federal courts at the district and appellate levels, and also represents clients before numerous regulatory agencies, including the Department of Labor, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the National Labor Relations Board. His clients include governmental entities and businesses in a broad array of industries, from start-up companies to multinational organizations.

“I have been impressed with the significant growth of Littler’s global platform since my time with the firm, as well as its ability to use data and technology solutions to help clients navigate novel issues impacting their workplaces,” said Badoux. “I’m excited to once again work with my colleagues in the U.S. and across Latin America, Europe and Asia, and to tap into the firm’s vast resources to serve my clients.”

Outside his legal practice, Badoux has served as a member of the board of directors of Arizona Autism United since 2018, supporting the organization’s mission to provide comprehensive services for families touched by autism spectrum disorder. He is also a prolific speaker and writer on global employment law, labor relations, wage and hour law, and other developments impacting the workplace. Badoux earned his J.D. from Emory University School of Law and his B.A., cum laude, from the University of Arizona.
