Littler Earns California Minority Counsel Program’s Prestigious Drucilla Stender Ramey Award

(September 3, 2020) – Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has been named the recipient of the 2020 California Minority Counsel Program’s (CMCP) Drucilla Stender Ramey Majority-Owned Law Firm Award for the second time. The firm will be presented with the award during the CMCP 2020 Virtual Conference later this month.

The award honors CMCP law firm members that have demonstrated the strongest commitment to inclusion and diversity. In addition to supporting CMCP and its mission to promote diversity in the legal profession, Littler was selected based on the firm’s well-rounded approach to promoting a culture of diversity and inclusion internally as well as across the legal industry.

Littler offers numerous diversity and inclusion programs and initiatives, which provide additional professional development opportunities for diverse attorneys – one example is the firm’s award-winning Career Advocacy Program (CAP). This initiative pairs rising diverse associate “Protégés” with senior shareholder “Advocates” and client general counsel “Champions” who encourage their career growth. From 2015 to 2020, Protégés have represented on average 28% and up to 40% of the new shareholder classes.

“It is an honor to once again be recognized by CMCP, an organization whose values of inclusion and diversity are the core principles we live by every day at Littler,” said Tom Bender and Jeremy Roth, co-managing directors of Littler, in a joint statement. “This award is a reflection of our continued commitment to fostering a work environment where everyone is valued and in which anyone can succeed.”

Littler continues to be recognized for its innovative diversity initiatives and inclusive culture. Over the past year, the firm has earned accolades from well-regarded associations and publications, including The American Lawyer, Human Rights Campaign, Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, The Recorder, Women in Law Empowerment Forum, Working Mother magazine, Vault and Yale Law Women.
