Jackson Lewis Names Tammie Garner Chief Legal Performance Officer

NEW YORK, NY (May 31, 2022) Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce Tammie Garner has been elevated to the role of Chief Legal Performance Officer (CLPO). In this new role, Tammie will be responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing the firm’s comprehensive attorney talent management strategy and leading other strategic initiatives.

“Throughout her tenure at the firm, Tammie has done an excellent job leading our professional development programs and initiatives,” said Firm Chair Kevin G. Lauri. “As CLPO, Tammie will enhance the firm’s efficiency, productivity and excellence in client service; we are confident she will continue to contribute to the firm’s success.”

Prior to her role as CLPO, Tammie served as Senior Director of Professional Development. She has spent most of her career as a legal professional who advises law firms and law students on learning and professional development, diversity and inclusion, pro bono legal service and community engagement. Tammie has led legal education programs, experiential learning opportunities and leadership training. Since joining Jackson Lewis in 2016, she has spearheaded individualized coaching and developed institutional programs for onboarding and integration, and performance management.

Tammie also established the firm’s “JL Academy” platform that offers a holistic approach to professional development by supporting “the whole person”. JL Academy increases employee knowledge and engagement, encourages professional excellence and collaboration, fosters career satisfaction and reinforces a learning culture.

Prior to her time at Jackson Lewis, Tammie practiced law as a business litigator for a global law firm and became their first litigation knowledge management attorney. Additionally, she taught legal research and writing as adjunct faculty for two national law schools in Boston and eventually became Director of Professional Development at a Massachusetts law firm. Tammie received her J.D. from Boston University School of Law and her B.A. from Gettysburg College.
