Jackson Lewis Launches Expanded Mentoring System

NEW YORK, NY (February 24, 2021) Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the country’s preeminent workplace law firms, recently launched the RISE Mentoring System, an expanded mentoring program designed to ensure equitable, consistent access to mentorship for all associates across the firm, tailored for different stages of their careers.

“Great mentorship is critical to great lawyering,” said Firm Chair Kevin Lauri. “The firm created RISE to make sure we are giving each associate equal access to a mentor, no matter when they arrive at Jackson Lewis or how comfortable they are reaching out to seek mentorship. This way each associate feels supported and encouraged to fill their potential, and our principals are empowered to further their mentees’ career advancement as effectively as possible.”

The RISE System expands Jackson Lewis’ current program to four separate opportunities for mentoring and professional development:

  • RISE: Recruit, tailored to law clerks, focuses on recruiting and hiring
  • RISE: Integrate, tailored to new associates at the firm, focuses on orientation, integration and engagement
  • RISE: Succeed, tailored to second through fifth-year associate career goals, focuses on developing core competencies for career development and engagement
  • RISE: Excel, tailored to associates in their sixth-year of practice, focuses on the path to becoming a principal at the firm

“Each step of an associate’s career offers different opportunities and challenges, which is why we expanded our current program into a level-based system that creates opportunities to identify specific goals and tailor the mentoring relationship to meet those goals – allowing room for said goals to change throughout the associates careers,” said Stephanie Lewis, office managing principal in Greenville and recruitment liaison on the firm’s Board of Directors.
