Goldberg Segalla Welcomes Joseph S. Brown

Goldberg Segalla added Joseph S. Brown to the firm’s Employment and Labor group in Buffalo. 

Joe is a seasoned employment and business litigator who helps clients devise strategies to minimize risk and resolve problems in a cost-effective manner. He counsels and defends the interests of clients facing employment and labor issues, representing private and public sector employers in disputes involving harassment, discrimination, wage and hour claims, restrictive covenants, employment contracts, whistleblower claims, defamation, and other tort claims. Joe provides day-to-day advice to employers on a broad array of workplace issues, including compliance with the ADA, FMLA, FLSA, and paid sick and family leave laws. He also negotiates and drafts employment agreements, separation agreements, restrictive covenants, and employee handbooks and policies. 

In addition to his employment practice, Joe has significant experience litigating complex business disputes as well as representing municipalities, public officials, and school districts in high-profile matters involving civil rights claims, First Amendment retaliation, NY Education Law, Article 78 proceedings, and other municipal law matters.  

Joe earned his B.A. from the University of Rochester and his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
