DOL Issues Workforce Development Performance Plan Proposals (1)

The Labor Department released two new proposed rules to standardize how the agency measures whether its workforce development programs are effectively serving employers.

The proposed rules (RIN:1205-AC01, RIN:1205-AC08), released by the DOL Tuesday, would create “a standard definition” of how the department gauges programs’ outreach to employers, and incorporate that into regulations implementing the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, according to a summary in the regulatory agenda.

According to an unpublished version of the proposal, it would use program participants’ retention with the same employer as one of its performance benchmarks.
