non solicitation covenants

In the employment context, a non-solicitation covenant (or non solicitation agreement) is an agreement between an employer and employee where the employee agrees to refrain from contacting the employer’s customers or employees in order for them to stop doing business or working for the employer.  Of course, this type of agreement is made to apply after the employee no longer works for the employer.  Obviously, an employer can terminate an employee for acting against the employer’s interest.  The non-soliciation is put in place to prevent the employee for doing that type of thing after he has quit or been fired.
