Tennessee's Maternity Leave Law Amended (pdf).

On May 28, 2005, the Tennessee maternity leave law was amended, extending leave rights to male employees and to adoptions. Tennessee Code Annotated Section 4-21-408 gives full-time employees who have worked for their employer for at least 12 consecutive months a maximum of four months of leave for adoption, pregnancy, childbirth and nursing. In the case of adoption, the four months of leave starts when the worker gets custody.
