Report Link Claims Against Employees Who Improperly Access Or Take Computerized Company Data Allowed In NJ Courts.Jackson Lewis LLP - September 06, 2007 In today's highly competitive and technology-driven business environment, it is crucial for companies to safeguard their confidential and proprietary business information, especially from departing employees who leave to work for competitors. One tool for employers who wish to pursue aggressively employees who misappropriate or improperly access company information is the New Jersey Computer Related Offenses Act ("CROA"). Although the statute was enacted more than twenty years ago, recent court decisions have highlighted the usefulness of the CROA in combating the misappropriation of computerized company data.
