Phelps Dunbar partner Kim Boyle has been named the overall 2009 Woman of the Year by New Orleans CityBusiness. As she has also been recognized as a finalist for this award in two previous years, she is now part of the CityBusinses Women of the Year Hall of Fame. The annual award honors women whose successes in business and contributions to the community have set the pace for the region's future. The women selected are innovative leaders with outstanding energy, ideas, achievements and commitment to excellence in the New Orleans area. Ms. Boyle and the 49 finalists were honored today at the annual luncheon, and they will also be recognized in a special "Women of the Year" insert, which will run in the November 9 edition of CityBusiness. Phelps Dunbar partner Karleen J. Green was recently recognized as a finalist for the Postlethwaite & Netterville Female Mentor of the Year Award. Philadelphia Labor Attorney Robert Hawkins' Case Against PA Board of Law Examiners Featured on Front Page of The Legal Intelligencer
Robert S. Hawkins' — a shareholder in the Labor and Employment Section of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney's Philadelphia — involvement in the case of Schimelfenig v. Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Board of Law Examiners was reported on in an article published on the front page of the October 21, 2009, edition of The Legal Intelligencer. As noted in the article, titled "Saint Joseph's GC Says Bar Admission Wrongly Denied," Hawkins argued on behalf of client Marianne Eugenia Schimelfenig before the state Supreme Court Tuesday, October 20, that "current economic realities have made the legal profession incredibly mobile in recent years and state bar rules should not be too restrictive in allowing out-of-state lawyers to be admitted to the Pennsylvania bar."

Newark Litigation Attorney Christopher Dalton Appointed Chair of the New Jersey Supreme Court District V-A Ethics Committee
