Report Link Defined Contribution Plan Provisions of Pension Protection Act of 2006.Fisher & Phillips, LLP - June 27, 2007 While much of the publicity surrounding the Pension Protection Act of 2006 (PPA) deals with defined benefit pension plans, PPA also made several significant changes with respect to defined contribution plans. Unfortunately, some of the provisions of the new law appear to have been poorly conceived and badly drafted. Hopefully, those defects will be resolved by technical corrections legislation or by Department of Labor (DOL) and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulations.
