Attorney Dawn Finlayson’s expertise in employment law is highly regarded in San Antonio and throughout Texas. Board certified in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, she has been in private practice with San Antonio firms for over twenty-five years. She also served as in-house attorney for a Fortune 200 corporation for over four years. An accomplished litigator, she has taken numerous complex and document intensive cases through trial to verdict. She has represented all types of business entities, including large publicly held companies, large and small private corporations—both established and newly formed—and various types of governmental entities. She has appeared before every level of state and Federal court, including the United States Supreme Court.
Ms. Finlayson is the author of numerous articles and papers on substantive legal issues. She has lectured on advanced litigation for the State Bar of Texas, The University of Texas and numerous other groups which devote resources to the education of licensed attorneys. She was selected by her peers for inclusion in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Lawyers in America—Best Law Firm: Labor and Employment/Litigation 2009, 2010 and 2011.
When she began her law career over 30 years ago, Ms. Finlayson served as special law clerk to the Honorable W. S. Sessions. She also served as Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas.
