Ed Harold is a partner in the New Orleans office and chair of the firm’s Retail Industry Practice Group. He devotes a substantial part of his practice to counseling employers about issues arising every day in the workplace including counseling, disciplining and terminating employees. He has worked with employers in the development of attendance and leave of absence issues that comply with the FMLA and the ADA. In 1999, Ed was invited to testify before the Subcommittee on Children and Families of the Health, Education, Labor and Pension Committee of the United States Senate about the problems employers face in administering FMLA leave. Ed’s courtroom practice has focused on state and federal court litigation in a wide variety of contexts. He has successfully defended cases brought under the ADA, the FMLA, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Title VII, ERISA, Louisianas Employment Discrimination Law and Louisianas Wage Payment statute. Ed also represents employers before administrative agencies such as the EEOC and the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs. He is a member of the board of trustees of the University of the South as the Lay Trustee from the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana. Ed is “AV” Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He has been listed in Chambers USA, America’s Leading Business Lawyers since 2009 and in The Best Lawyers in America 2010 and 2011.
