Profile

Mr. Schlueter litigates cases in state and federal courts and administrative agencies concentrating on helping corporate clients in complex disputes and labor and employment matters.  His experience includes litigation involving breaches of contract; defamation; discrimination; Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) involving pension benefits; wrongful discharge; internal investigations of employee misconduct; and the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act.  On a daily basis, Mr. Schlueter advises clients on a myriad of labor and employment issues.

In addition to extensive experience in litigating high stakes matters in the context of motions seeking temporary restraining orders and other injunctive relief, for over seven years, Mr. Schlueter has been advising clients, as well as asserting and defending claims on their behalf, on matters involving restrictive covenants (non-compete, non-solicit and confidentiality agreements); misappropriation of trade secrets; retaliation, tortious interference; and unfair competition.

In 2005, Mr. Schlueter was mentioned in the article, ?Big Suits, United Airlines et al.? from the March 2005 issue of American Lawyer for his role in representing the Official Committee of the Unsecured Creditors in UAL Corp.?s bankruptcy.  Mr. Schlueter engages in ongoing analysis, consultation and litigation regarding labor and employment issues arising during the course of bankruptcy proceedings.

Mr. Schlueter also has provided discrimination and harassment training to the management of Fortune 500 companies throughout the United States.  He has extensive experience in speaking to human resources management about leave issues under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and worker?s compensation.

As a member of Business 21 Publishing?s Expert Faculty, Mr. Schlueter conducts Webinars for HR executives and professionals throughout the United States on Background Checks.
