Maureen is counsel in the firm’s regional labor and employment practice group in the Houston office. She has over 20 years of litigation experience in labor and employment, civil rights, and commercial litigation. Maureen has represented numerous private and governmental clients in employment and civil rights matters in federal and state courts, both at trial and on appeal. In addition, she counsels clients on various non-litigation matters, including hiring, internal investigations, terminations, reductions-in-force, non-competition agreements, sexual harassment, unemployment claims, FMLA and FLSA issues. Maureen conducts sexual harassment training and investigations of sexual harassment complaints for employers in Texas and Louisiana. She has been awarded the “AV” rating by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, which is the highest possible rating for legal ability and ethical standards.
In addition, Maureen served as a Clinical Instructor from 2005-2007 at the Tulane Civil Litigation Clinic, where she supervised third-year law students as they jointly represented clients in federal court in cases under Title VII, the Americans With Disabilities Act, ? 1983 and the Fair Housing Act. She also served as a Trial Advocacy Instructor at Tulane Law School in 2006. Previously, Maureen served as a law clerk for the late United States Magistrate Judge Kenneth C. Hughes of the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana.
