Profile

Tim Garnett has spent nearly three decades representing management in employment and labor law matters.  Before joining Ogletree Deakins, Mr. Garnett was the director of labor relations at Kinder Morgan, Inc. in Houston, Texas were he successfully negotiated and managed more than 40 labor contracts and represented the Company in NLRB hearings and arbitrations.  Mr. Garnett also spent a number of years in a large St Louis law firm where he represented several Fortune 500 companies in labor and employment matters and litigated numerous employment related claims in state and federal courts.  He has particular expertise in class action discrimination matters and has developed statistical defenses for discrimination claims.  Mr. Garnett also counsels employers on how to stay compliant with federal and state laws and avoid wrongful termination, harassment and discrimination lawsuits.Mr. Garnett has developed and presented numerous labor and employment training programs dealing with labor relations and other human resources topics for human resource professionals and line management  His best selling web-based harassment program called the ?No Zone? continues to be sold and utilized throughout the United States.In addition, Mr. Garnett has conducted several union avoidance training programs, and developed and presented Personnel Law Update training programs for managers across multiple industries and businesses.  In the early nineties, Mr. Garnett served as senior counsel for McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis, MO, where he advised the Missiles Systems Company in all its labor and employment matters throughout the U.S.
