Mr. Farmer?s litigation practice focuses on representation of management in wage and hour class action, employment discrimination, and wrongful termination matters in state and federal courts. He has tried to verdict a range of employment cases, including wage and hour, sexual harassment, age discrimination and other wrongful termination matters. His experience ranges from representing businesses in single plaintiff actions, to defending large employers in wage and hour class actions and class action prosecutions the U.S. Department of Justice and the EEOC.
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Farmer was a trial attorney for the U.S. EEOC in their San Francisco District Office. He has developed a national practice representing employers before administrative agencies such as the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the EEOC, the California Labor Commissioner, the California Employment Development Department, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, and other agencies.
Mr. Farmer regularly provides strategic advice to employers on a range of complex employment matters, including wage and hour law compliance, employee terminations, responding to employee requests for leave and reasonable accommodation, trade secret theft, and employee privacy. He regularly provides employment law training and policy review for a range of employers, from small family-owned businesses to Fortune 100 companies.
Mr. Farmer is the author of several widely used employment law publications, a frequent speaker for Human Resources groups nationwide, and was recently recognized as one of California?s leading employment lawyers in Chambers USA, America?s Leading Business Lawyers.
