Ms. Hininger is an associate in the firm’s Kansas City office.  She defends employers and management in employment-related disputes in various forums, focusing primarily on discrimination, retaliation, harassment and wrongful discharge cases.  Recent successes include:
<li>Obtaining a defense jury verdict in the District of Kansas, as second-chair on a sexual harassment and retaliatory discharge claim.  Ms. Hininger examined a key management employee and several additional witnesses. <li>Obtaining summary judgment in a two-plaintiff action against a retail store, alleging race discrimination, retaliation, and other theories of recovery, in the Western District of Missouri. <li>Successfully conciliating an EEOC Charge alleging disability discrimination for a de minimis amount.Ms. Hininger has extensive employment litigation experience for an associate, including first-chairing a week-long private arbitration, second-chairing four federal jury trials, taking multiple depositions (including a plaintiff), defending management-level depositions, writing successful summary judgment motions, arguing dispositive motions in court, representing employers in settlement conferences and in mediation, and defending an EEOC on-site inspection.  Ms. Hininger is originally from Independence, Missouri.  She began her legal career as a law clerk for the Honorable John R. Gibson, who sits on the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
