Patrick M. Stanton has spent his career representing management in employment and labor law matters. He previously served as the Director of Labor Relations and EEO Programs at W.R. Grace & Co., and as Labor Counsel at Union Camp Corporation. He also spent nine years with one of New Jersey’s largest law firms, where he chaired the Employment Law Group before leaving to co-found Stanton Hughes in 1995. He joined Ogletree Deakins after eight years with Stanton Hughes, and continues to represent those clients with the value-added feature of Ogletree Deakins” national presence.Mr. Stanton has been a member of the Executive Committee of the Labor and Employment Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association since 1989 and served as the Section’s Chair from 2003 to 2005. He also is a member of the NLRB Region 22 Practice and Procedure Committee.Mr. Stanton chaired the Organizing Committee for the Sidney Reitman Employment Law American Inn of Court, the first Inn of Court in the country focused on training advocates practicing principally in the area of labor and employment law, and served as the President of the Reitman Inn from 1997 until 2001. He also served as President of the New York State Advisory Council on Employment Law, Inc. from that group’s formation until his return to private practice in 1986. Mr. Stanton speaks and writes frequently on employment law topics, and he served as an adjunct professor in Fairleigh Dickinson’s M.B.A. (For Executives) Program from 1984 to 1992. He is a Fellow in the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. He is listed in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in American Law and Best Lawyers in America. He recently once again was named one of the Top 100 Lawyers in New Jersey by Superlawyers and is one of only five employment attorneys to have received a top ranking in the annual Chambers and Partners survey of New Jersey attorneys since that survey’s inception.
