Ms. Terwilliger is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She counsels and represents employers in all aspects of employment and labor law, including counseling and litigation pertaining to discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour compliance, employment contracts, non-competition and non-disclosure covenants, and leaves of absence. Based upon annual surveys of over 65,000 Texas attorneys, Texas Monthly magazine recognized Ms. Terwilliger as a “Texas Rising Star” in labor and employment law in 2004, 2005 and 2006.Ms. Terwilliger regularly represents clients in state and federal courts and administrative agencies throughout the United States. She has successfully represented employers in claims arising under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Equal Pay Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family & Medical Leave Act, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, workers” compensation retaliation, and many state and local anti-discrimination statutes, as well as non-statutory causes of action such as wrongful discharge, defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent hiring and supervision, breach of contract. Ms. Terwilliger also has broad experience litigating disputes pertaining to restrictive covenants, such as covenants not to compete, non-solicitation covenants, and covenants prohibiting the use or disclosure of trade secrets and confidential information.Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Terwilliger enjoyed a career in the hotel industry as a General Manager for a luxury all-suite hotel chain.
