Mr. Swann has extensive experience in labor and employment law matters. Before entering private practice in the 1960s, he served as a special agent with the FBI and as a trial attorney with the National Labor Relations Board.Mr. Swann has represented diverse corporate clients regarding labor and employment law matters before various governmental agencies as well as before federal trial and appellate courts. In addition, he has often been the featured speaker at employment law seminars. He has served as chairman for the State Bar of Georgia Labor and Employment Law Section and as a member of the Institute of Continuing Legal Education board of trustees.Mr. Swann’s experience includes the following:Representing employers in federal trial and appellate courts regarding sex discrimination, equal pay, age discrimination, and NLRB-related matters.Assisting clients in matters before the EEOC.Counseling clients in developing sound personnel policies and procedures so as to encourage positive attitudes toward management.Representing employers before the NLRB concerning union organization and unfair labor practice proceedings.Counseling clients desiring to remain union-free when faced with union organization attempts.Representing employers in contract and grievance negotiations with labor unions and in the arbitration of disciplinary matters before the American Arbitration Association and the Federal Mediation & Conciliation Service.
