Christopher Decker, an associate, represents and counsels employers in a variety of labor and employment matters, including the California Fair Employment and Housing Act, Title VII, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, federal and California wage and hour issues, and the discipline of employees.
In the area of litigation, Christopher defends employers against claims of discrimination and harassment based on race, age, gender, national origin, sexual orientation, and other protected classes, as well as claims of wrongful termination and retaliation. Christopher also represents employers in wage and hour litigation, including class actions, involving claims misclassification of employees and meal and rest period violations, waiting time penalties and other purported wage and hour violations. Christopher has also represented employers in actions alleging breaches of fiduciary responsibility and improper denials of benefits under employer-sponsored employee benefit plans.
Christopher also advises employers regarding employee handbooks, personnel policies, wage and hour compliance, leave issues, employee discipline matters, and other employment and employee benefits issues.
Before joining Ogletree Deakins, Christopher was an associate in the Labor and Employment and Employee Benefits departments of O?Melveny & Myers, LLP.
Christopher is fluent in both Spanish and French.
