Ms. Hanrahan completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia in 2000, where she graduated with distinction (conferred on candidates with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 - 3.75).Ms. Hanrahan then received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of South Carolina. Ms. Hanrahan is a member of the Order of the Wig and Robe and the Order of the Coif. Ms. Hanrahan served as an Articles Editor for the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Probate, and Trust Journal, and was chosen as the Journal’s Scholarship Award Recipient in 2004. Ms. Hanrahan’s practice focuses on assisting and counseling clients on a variety of labor and employment litigation matters. This commonly includes defending collective action lawsuits under the FLSA; conducting comprehensive national wage/hour and wage/payment audits, while counseling companies on limiting their liability under both federal and state wage/hour and wage/payment laws; conducting nation-wide audits of companies” employment policies and practices for both federal and state law compliance; investigating and defending EEOC charges filed against companies; defending and investigating Title VII, FLSA, ADEA, FMLA, and ADA lawsuits; and drafting employment contracts, policies, and employee handbooks.Ms. Hanrahan also assists and counsels companies on traditional labor relations matters, including union campaigns, unfair labor practice litigation, union avoidance and maintaining positive employee relations, and regularly conducts labor audits and supervisor training to help help clients maintain a positive work environment.
