Dorraine concentrates her practice in the areas of bankruptcy law, debtor/creditor law and employment law. Her practice includes representing employers in personnel-related matters. She has conducted hundreds of training sessions relating to harassment, discipline and other employment law matters. Dorraine also represents employers in defending employment-related claims. She is a United States Chapter 7 Panel Bankruptcy Trustee.
Dorraine received her Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude from St. Cloud State University. She received her J.D., with distinction, from the University of North Dakota School of Law and was named a member of Order of the Coif. Dorraine joined Gray Plant Mooty, formerly Hall & Byers, in 1989 and became a shareholder in 1996. She is currently the chair of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee.
Dorraine has co-authored two articles for the North Dakota Law Review: “Out of the Frying Pan: How to Avoid Getting Burned in Your Dealings with Chapter 7 Trustees,” 69 Univ. N.D. Law Review, No. 1 (1993); “Sexual Harassment Awareness Training: It?s Not the Boogie Monster,” 72 Univ. N.D. Law Review, No. 72 (1996). Dorraine is also a frequent lecturer and speaker on issues of employment law and bankruptcy.
She is a member of the Stearns-Benton Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA). She is an immediate past Chair of the Bankruptcy Law Section of the MSBA, and has served as the treasurer, secretary and vice-chair of that Section. Dorraine serves on the Pro Bono Committee of the Bankruptcy Law Section of the MSBA. She is a member of the Employment Law Section of the MSBA, Minnesota Women Lawyers and the Central Minnesota Chapter of Minnesota Women Lawyers.
Dorraine is a member of the Forum of Executive Women and is Past President of the Board of Directors of The St. John?s Boy?s Choir.
