Tamara is the Managing Officer and Chair of the Board of Directors of Gray Plant Mooty. She is also a principal in the area of employment law and serves as co-chair of the firm’s Higher Education Practice Group. She advises clients in personnel-related matters, including discrimination and harassment, Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility issues, the Family and Medical Leave Act, wage-hour concerns, drug testing, employment and independent contractor agreements, non-compete clauses, affirmative action, employee handbooks, and defamation. She also advises colleges and universities on general higher education issues including accreditation, FERPA, student affairs, and faculty issues.

In 2007, Tamara was recognized as a “Women in Business Industry Leader” by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. In 1989, Tamara received the Author?s Award from the Minnesota State Bar Association. She has taught ?Women and the Law? at the University of Minnesota and is a Minnesota Law & Politics “Super Lawyer.” In 2006 and 2007, she was named one of the Top 100 Female Super Lawyers by Minnesota Law and Politics.

Tamara is a 1982 summa cum laude graduate of Moorhead State University. She earned her law degree, cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 1986. During law school, Tamara served as Executive Editor of the Harvard Women?s Law Journal.
