J. Mark Ogden is the Office Managing Shareholder of the firm’s Phoenix, Arizona office. Prior to joining Littler Mendelson, Mr. Ogden was a trial attorney with the United States Department of Labor in Los Angeles, California, and a Special Assistant United States Attorney with the United States Attorney’s Office, representing the federal government in litigation of labor and employment cases, including those arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act, Occupational Safety and Health Act, Mine Safety and Health Act, Davis-Bacon Act, Services Contract Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Employee Polygraph Protection Act.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES

Mr. Ogden has authored numerous articles on labor and employment law, including “The Punishment: EEOC Has Expanded The Scope Of Liability For Harassment In The Workplace,” Arizona Journal, May 2000; “Directing Traffic: EEOC Guidelines On Harassment Lead Employers To Safety From Liability,” Arizona Journal, April 2000; “Employment Law Uncovered: The ADA May Not Protect Employees Who Were Addicted To Drugs Or Alcohol,” Arizona Journal, December 1998; and “Strong Shield: Employers Can Limit Liability By Developing An Effective Sexual Harassment Policy,” Arizona Journal, July 1998. He is also a member of the Federal Bar Association, State Bars of California, Arizona and Washington, D.C., Los Angeles County Bar Association, American Bar Association, National Employment Lawyers Association, National Employment Law Institute, and the California Trial Lawyers Association.

Mr. Ogden frequently conducts training in all areas of labor and employment law and has presented numerous seminars to national and statewide conventions, and to non-exempt and management employees of California and Arizona employers.
