Profile

Ms. Outwater is the managing partner of the Pittsburgh office of Jackson Lewis, LLP. She is also the regional managing partner over both the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Cleveland, Ohio offices of Jackson Lewis. She received her undergraduate degree from Fordham University and obtained a Juris Doctorate degree from Albany Law School and holds a Master of Laws (in Labor Law) from New York University School of Law. Ms. Outwater is a member of the Pennsylvania and New York Bar Associations and is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute?s Employment and Labor Law Advisory Committee. Ms. Outwater was designated as a ?Super Lawyer? in the Labor and Employment Law Practice Area in both the 2004, 2005 and 2006 edition of ?Pennsylvania Super Lawyers.?

Ms. Outwater currently serves on the SHRM Foundation Board of Directors. She is a member of the Pittsburgh Human Resources Association 2006 Advisory Board. . Ms. Outwater was elected and served on the 2005 and 2006 Membership Advisory Council (MAC) to the SHRM Board representing the Northeast Region which includes Maryland, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Ms. Outwater frequently lectures on labor and employment law topics before Jackson Lewis clients and national and regional employer associations. Ms. Outwater is a nationally sought after workplace law substantive expert as evidenced by her appearance on the PBS television program, ?On the Issues,? a series that explored issues confronting American business today. Ms. Outwater has testified before the House Committee on Education and the Workforce representing both the Society for Human Resource Management and the FMLA Technical Corrections Coalition, a 160-member American business coalition.

Ms. Outwater co-authored the book, Minding Your Business: Legal Issues and Practical Answers for Managing Workplace Privacy (1997). In 2001 and 2004, Ms. Outwater authored the book chapter entitled, ?Medical Screening and Testing,? in Employment Law Deskbook For Human Resources Professionals, (West Group, 2004).
