Mark L. Sussman is the Managing Partner of the Long Island, New York, office of Jackson Lewis LLP.
He received his law degree in 1975 from Brooklyn Law School where he was the managing editor of the Brooklyn Law School Journal of International Law. Mr. Sussman conducted his undergraduate studies at Hofstra University from which he received a B.A. degree in 1969.
Mr. Sussman joined Jackson Lewis upon his graduation from law school in 1975. After practicing in the firm’s New York City office for fifteen years, he opened the Long Island office of Jackson Lewis in 1990. The office has grown to twenty-seven attorneys.
Mr. Sussman was a contributing editor to The Developing Labor Law. He also co-authored Employer’s Election Campaign Strategies, published by the Employee Relations Press.
Mr. Sussman specializes in traditional labor law. He has acted as the chief spokesman for hundreds of collective bargaining relationships and has extensive experience in contract administration and arbitration. He has advised employers on the workplace issues raised by business mergers, sales, closings, relocations, layoffs, etc. He is an experienced practitioner before the National Labor Relations Board. In addition, Mr. Sussman counsels employers and trains supervisors on various workplace issues such as those related to wrongful termination, sexual harassment and all forms of discrimination.
Mr. Sussman is a member of the New York Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section.
