Profile

Richard W. Schey was the Managing Partner of the firm?s Morristown, New Jersey, office of Jackson Lewis LLP from its opening in 1988 through August 2008. Mr. Schey serves on the Firm’s management committee and is the Regional Coordinator of the Firm’s Southwest Regional offices. He joined Jackson Lewis upon his graduation from law school in 1978.

Mr. Schey specializes in traditional labor law. In that role, he has acted as the chief spokesperson in hundreds of collective bargaining relationships. He has extensive experience in contract administration and arbitration. Mr. Schey has advised employers on the workplace issues raised by numerous complex business mergers, sales, closings, relocations, layoffs, etc. He is an experienced practitioner before the National Labor Relations Board and is a member of the New Jersey Bar Association, Labor and Employment Section.

Mr. Schey co-authored ?When Workers Can?t Work,? which was published in the New Jersey Law Journal. He also co-authored New Jersey Wage & Hour Handbook, A Practical Guide for Small Businesses, published by Association Press Inc. Mr. Schey serves on the Human Resource Committee of the Board of Trustees for Atlantic Health.

Mr. Schey received his law degree in 1978 from Villanova School of Law, where he was an editor of the Villanova Law Review. Mr. Schey conducted his undergraduate studies at Dickinson College, from which he received a B.A. degree in 1974.

Mr. Schey’s bar admissions include New Jersey, 1978, and the New Jersey District Court, 1978.
