Scott Brutocao is a shareholder in the Austin office who represents employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, including litigation and counseling.  Mr. Brutocao is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is also licensed in both Texas and California.  Mr. Brutocao's expertise includes:

Representing Texas and California employers in all aspects of litigation, including harassment and discrimination, wrongful termination, breach of contract, covenants not to compete, misappropriation of trade secrets, unfair competition, retaliation, defamation, wage & hour disputes, ERISA violations, and virtually any other subject involving the employer-employee relationship. 


Conducting numerous jury and non-jury trials/arbitrations on a variety of legal claims in state and federal court;


Advising Texas and California employers on the full variety of employment-related issues, including terminations, covenants not to compete, wage-and-hour compliance, reasonable accommodations, FMLA compliance, hiring, discipline, internal investigations, the WARN Act, commission disputes, disparate treatment, and any other issue arising in the workplace;


Reviewing and creating employee handbooks and policies of all types;


Drafting and negotiating employment agreements, severance agreements, and covenants not to compete.


Providing training for employers on compliance with laws on virtually all employment-related subjects, from hiring to termination. ,

Mr. Brutocao litigated employment cases exclusively for employers for more than five years in California prior to settling in Texas.  He is a frequent speaker at employment-related seminars, both for employers and other attorneys.  He also publishes articles on employment law issues in a variety of commercial and legal publications.
