Tom Barnard's practice focuses on all aspects of labor and employment law, including complex employment litigation, jury trials, administrative hearings, collective bargaining and arbitrations.  Tom also has considerable experience representing government entities.  Tom is consistently named in Best Lawyers in America, Labor and Employment Law (1991-2007), and was inducted into the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers in 1998.  From 2004 through 2008, Tom was recognized as an Ohio Super Lawyer, including being named one of the Top 100 attorneys in Ohio and Top 50 attorneys in Cleveland.  He is designated by Chambers USA as the "Star Individual" in Ohio in Labor and Employment and has been named a Leading Lawyer for 2008 by Inside Business Magazine.

Tom has extensive experience handling labor law and employment matters. He has:

• Litigated more than 36 class action cases,
• Tried 10 class action/EEOC cases ,
• Tried at least 42 EEO cases (non-class actions) ,
•Tried 16 EEO jury trials,
•Tried at least 4 wrongful discharge/breach of contract jury trials ,
•Argued 44 cases to various Courts of Appeals

Tom previously held significant governmental positions with the U.S. Department of Labor (1968-1971); Deputy Counsel for Litigation, Labor Management Laws, 1970 and Special Counsel to the Solicitor, 1971.  Tom also is a frequent national speaker on labor and employment matters and is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
