Richard S. Rosenberg is a founding partner of the firm. He is a graduate of the College of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University and the University of Santa Clara Law School. Mr. Rosenberg has spent his entire career (30 years) providing advice and counsel to management (exclusively) on the entire spectrum of labor relations and employment law matters. Mr. Rosenberg's work includes advice on employment law strategy and compliance, as well as litigation, covering such diverse areas as traditional labor relations matters (union organizing, strikes/picketing, collective bargaining, grievance handling and arbitration and the acquisition/divesture of unionized businesses), employment discrimination, wrongful termination, occupational safety and health, trade secret protection/enforcement, WARN Act compliance, wage and hour, immigration law compliance, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, and HIPAA. Mr. Rosenberg also assists clients develop management oriented employment agreements, personnel policies, trade secret and proprietary information agreements, codes of ethical conduct, non-compete agreements, sexual and other workplace harassment policies, and routine employment forms (e.g., employment application, formal evaluation, employee handbook, FMLA compliance forms). Mr. Rosenberg regularly appears before federal and state courts and administrative agencies such as the NLRB, EEOC and the California DFEH, the Cal/OSHA Appeals Board, United States Department of Labor, and the California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, California Employment Development Department, and the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service.

Mr. Rosenberg is a sought after public speaker. As part of the Firm's preventive practice, Mr. Rosenberg designs and presents customized internal management training programs on a broad range of employment law matters such as sex harassment, in-house investigations of theft, sexual harassment and other workplace misconduct, wrongful termination, wage-hour law compliance, compliance with federal and state laws covering family/medical leave, disability discrimination (ADA and state law) and the development of legally compliant employer policies. In the past twenty-two years, he has trained over 10,000 managers.

Mr. Rosenberg frequently lectures to management groups on the subject of labor and employment law, and is the author of numerous articles in the field. Mr. Rosenberg is a chapter author for the widely read treatise on California employment law Advising California Employers. Mr. Rosenberg also has been the featured speaker for the Continuing Education of the Bar and the Employment Law Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Most recently, he was a speaker at a program Employment Law Issues for Start-Up Companies. Mr. Rosenberg also serves as the featured speaker at a series of lectures throughout California sponsored jointly by the California Employment Development Department and the California Employer Advisory Council. Mr. Rosenberg is presenting programs in Southern California for Lorman Education Seminars on wage-hour law and FMLA compliance.

Mr. Rosenberg has been recognized in the legal community for his expertise in employment law by being selected as a regular contributing author in the Los Angeles Daily Journal legal newspaper. Mr. Rosenberg authors a monthly column in that publication on employment law. A list of Mr. Rosenberg's publications is below.

Mr. Rosenberg is also especially adept in resolving disputes through the creative use of Alternative Dispute Resolution, having represented many clients in mediation and other ADR procedures. Mr. Rosenberg brings a unique perspective to these matters because he is a trained mediator and has served as a neutral. Mr. Rosenberg holds certificates in mediation training from Dispute Resolution Services (Los Angeles County Bar Association), and Pepperdine University's Center for Dispute Resolution. Mr. Rosenberg has also served as a court appointed mediator through the Los Angeles and Ventura County Superior Courts' mediation programs.
