Mr. Ballard is a graduate of Syracuse University (B.A. 1971) and the University of North Carolina School of Law at Chapel Hill (J.D. 1975), where he was on the national moot court team. Mr. Ballard's legal career has always focused on labor and employment law matters primarily involving union/management relations. He is considered one of the country's preeminent management attorneys in the hospitality industry. Mr. Ballard practices before federal and state agencies and has lectured throughout the country on preventive labor relations and other employment-related issues. Mr. Ballard is admitted to practice before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District Court for the Northern, Southern and Central Districts of California. Mr. Ballard is a member of the Labor and Employment Law and Litigation Sections of the American Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in both California and Florida.
