Alan Seagrave is a member of the firm's Litigation Section, and focuses his practice on business immigration, family immigration and consular practice.

Matters that Alan regularly handles include:

  • Preparation and filing of immigrant and nonimmigrant visa petitions.

  • Review of corporate structure and documents of foreign and/or U.S. client companies for compliance with applicable regulations.

  • Representing foreign nationals in deferred inspection proceedings.

  • Assisting business executives in structuring operations in view of immigration regulations.

  • Advising employers on avoiding possible sanctions and claims of immigration-related discrimination under the immigration laws.

  • Preparation and filing of alien relative petitions, adjustment of status applications, and naturalization applications.

  • Preparation and submission of visa applications and waiver applications to U.S. consulates abroad.

  • Advising clients on visa processing issues at consular level related to nonimmigrant visas.

  • Directly interfacing with consular officials in problem cases.

    Before joining Buchanan, Alan served as counsel for a large international law firm based in Miami. He began his career in the business sector, however, serving as an international marketing executive in the Latin American market with companies that included Xerox de Colombia, S.A., Martex Fiber Corporation, Schweizerhall, Inc. and Landia Imports.

    Alan is fluent in Spanish. He is certified as a Spanish-English federal court interpreter by the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts.
