J. Anthony Messina(Shareholder)Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC Lawyer Profile J. Anthony Messina is co-managing shareholder of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney's Philadelphia office. He was an attorney with Klett Rooney Lieber & Schorling when it joined Buchanan Ingersoll in 2006, where he was co-chair of the firm's Labor and Employment Law Practice and of the firm. Jerry concentrates his practice in the exclusive representation of employers in the resolution of disputes under the National Labor Relations Act, including representation elections, unfair labor practice issues, negotiations and the administration of collective bargaining agreements. Formerly an attorney with the National Labor Relations Board, Jerry has experience in representation related issues, including advising clients and administering employee/company joint participation activities. His work involves labor arbitration, federal and state litigation on both the trial and appellate levels, practice before the EEOC and comparable state agencies. He advises clients on labor and employment matters in the context of mergers, acquisitions and related business planning, including the development and auditing of employment practices and procedures involving training, promotions, downsizing, leaves, drug, alcohol and other benefit policies. He has lectured across the country before chambers of commerce and associations of employers in the drug, transportation, manufacturing, maritime and construction industries on many aspects of labor and employment policy and procedures.
