Jill M. Lashay(Shareholder)Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC Lawyer Profile Jill Lashay has experience in a variety of labor and employment matters, with nationally recognized knowledge in occupational safety and health law. Jill represents employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, various state human rights commissions and federal and state courts across the country. She also counsels employers on compliance with federal, state and local laws concerning individual employment rights, covenants not-to-compete, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, personnel policies, enforcement of employer rights under individual employment contracts and labor and employment issues arising out of acquisitions and facility shut downs. She has assisted employers when tragic accidents and fatalities strike the workplace and has successfully worked with OSHA during subsequent investigations to minimize employer liability. She has also assisted employers with general OSHA inspections, negotiating the reclassification of citations and substantial reductions in proposed penalties with various OSHA Area and Regional offices. Jill is a frequent speaker at seminars for human resources and safety professionals, addressing occupational safety, health and general employment law matters. She is an active member of the management bar of the ABA Labor Section Committee on Occupational Safety and Health, where she has served as a contributor to the ABA Occupational Safety and Health Law Treatise and a panelist at the Committee's Mid-Winter Meetings. Since 2000, she has been the OSHA Committee Liaison to the ABA Labor Section Committee on Equal Employment Opportunity in the Legal Profession. In addition to her skills as a litigator, Jill serves as a court-appointed mediator in civil matters before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. She was named a "Pennsylvania Super Lawyer Rising Star" in 2005 and 2006 in Philadelphia Magazine.
