Teresa M. Thompson(Officer)Fredrikson & Byron, P.A. Lawyer Profile Teresa is an officer in Fredrikson & Byron’s Employment and Labor Law Group. Teresa is a litigator defending employers in state and federal courts as well as administrative agencies and private arbitrations. She has significant experience defending retaliation claims brought under the Minnesota Whistleblower’s Act, the workers’ compensation statute, and state and federal civil rights laws. Teresa has litigated claims of sexual harassment, wrongful termination, discrimination (age, disability, gender and race), defamation and FLSA and FMLA violations. Teresa effectively utilizes Minnesota statutes, such as, the Minnesota Declaratory Judgment Act, in litigation to advocate her client’s rights under a variety of commercial contracts. In that regard, Teresa works affirmatively on behalf of businesses to enforce confidentiality and non-compete agreements, and other commercial contracts. In addition to her litigation practice, Teresa also counsels businesses on litigation prevention -- focusing on policy development, employee training, general human resource issues, and compliance with state and federal employment and labor laws.
