Paul C. Skelly(Partner)Hogan & Hartson L.L.P. Lawyer Profile Paul Skelly serves as a director of the firm’s labor and employment group. Recently recognized in the Washingtonian as one of the region’s top employment lawyers, Paul’s practice is principally devoted to representation of employers in labor and employment matters. Paul's labor and employment practice involves a full range of matters, including litigation, counseling, and traditional labor-management issues. He has represented employers before trial and appellate courts in the District of Columbia, Virginia, Maryland, and numerous other jurisdictions across the country, in cases ranging from individual employee claims to major class actions. He regularly advises clients on compliance with federal and state laws, preparation of executive employment agreements, and managing employment issues in corporate transactions and reductions in force. Paul also represents employers in connection with union organizing campaigns, and collective bargaining and administrative proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). Paul is also experienced in commercial litigation in state and federal courts and before arbitrators. He has handled a variety of commercial disputes, including breach of contract actions, zoning litigation, construction claims, and insurance issues. Representative Experience Successfully defended a major telecommunications company against a broad class action discrimination lawsuit. Assisted a national association in developing and executing an organizational restructuring that involved reductions in force, job consolidation, and new executive hires. Assisted a leading university with NLRB proceedings and negotiations with three unions. Advised an international airline on compliance with U.S. and state employment law requirements.
