Marie Wrighten(Associate)Cooley Godward Kronish LLP. Lawyer Profile Marie L. Wrighten is a senior associate in the Cooley Godward Litigation department. She joined the Firm in 2000 and is resident in the San Diego office. Ms. Wrighten’s practice focuses on general business litigation with an emphasis in complex business matters, securities, and employment law, including intellectual property disputes involving trade secrets, unfair competition, and unfair trade practices. Prior to joining Cooley, Ms. Wrighten was an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of Columbia and in the Southern District of California for approximately three years. As a federal prosecutor, Ms. Wrighten conducted federal jury trials relating to narcotics and immigration offenses, prepared various appellate briefs, and argued in appellate courts on several different matters. Ms. Wrighten was also an Assistant District Attorney in the City and County of San Francisco for two years, where she handled criminal jury trials and preliminary hearings. Ms. Wrighten served as trial team and department leader throughout her tenure in the District Attorney’s Office. Before becoming a prosecutor, Ms. Wrighten was an associate at Howrey & Simon in Los Angeles, where her practice focused on antitrust and business litigation. Ms. Wrighten received her J.D. from Columbia Law School in 1993, where she graduated as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. She received her B.A. in International Relations from Stanford University in 1990. Ms. Wrighten is admitted to practice in all California State Courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit and in the U.S. District Court, Central and Southern Districts of California.
