Mr. Pitts practices in the firm's Labor and Employment Group and with the Commercial Litigation Group. Mr. Pitts also has experience in insurance defense and coverage and products liability. A native of Charlotte, NC, Mr. Pitts graduated with distinction from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He received his Juris Doctor from The University of South Carolina School of Law where Mr. Pitts was a member of the South Carolina Law Review and inducted into the Order of Wig and Robe. Mr. Pitts is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. Pitts concentrates his practice on defending management in labor and employment matters. Mr. Pitts represents management before state and federal trial and appellate courts throughout the U.S. as well as before administrative agencies like the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the U.S. Department of Labor. While Mr. Pitts handles litigation, arbitration and other adversarial claims on a daily basis, he spends a significant portion of his time counseling management on ways to minimize or avoid disputes. Mr. Pitts has also litigated a substantial number of commercial disputes, as well as insurance coverage issues. Mr. Pitts is a member of the North and South Carolina Bar Associations, the Greenville County Bar Association, the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association and the American Bar Association.
