Samuel F. Painter(Member)Nexsen Pruet, LLC Lawyer Profile Samuel (Sam) Painter is an attorney in the firm's Columbia, SC office. His practice includes a variety of tort and insurance related matters, including claims involving civil litigation and workers' compensation. Mr. Painter is a native of Virginia and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, where he played varsity football. Mr. Painter received his law degree from Washington & Lee University, where he was a member of the law review and a student teacher in the Burke's Scholar program. A past president of the Columbia Young Lawyers Club, he serves as the legal advisor of the South Carolina Self-Insurers Association. Mr. Painter is a frequent speaker at seminars for the Self-Insurers, the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and the South Carolina Bar. Mr. Painter is the author of the following publications: Workers' Compensation in South Carolina (a manual that has been published by the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce since 1996 and is now in its third edition) and The South Carolina Workers' Compensation Casebook (a book that has been published by the South Carolina Self-Insurers Association since 1990 and is now in its sixth edition). In October of 2002, Best Lawyers in America named Mr. Painter among the best lawyers practicing in Worker's Compensation Law.
