Lawyer Profile Emphasis AREAS OF PRACTICE Mr. Bender represents management clients in all aspects of employment law, ranging from proactive counseling to litigation in both union and non-union settings. For unionized clients, he has provided representation in negotiations, arbitrations and organizing drives with special emphasis in the transportation, healthcare and energy industries. In the non-union setting, his work has covered employment discrimination, the Americans with Disabilities Act, wage and hour matters, Alternative Dispute Resolution, employment agreements and Occupational Safety and Health Administration issues. Mr. Bender has handled a wide variety of claims before the NLRB, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and in federal court. He has also lectured and written extensively on a variety of emerging employment law issues including drug-testing, the ADA and FMLA, and other workforce diversity issues. PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES Mr. Bender is the author of The Health Care Employers' Guide to the Americans with Disabilities Act, published by Packard Press, and a contributing author to the Clark Boardman Health Law Handbook. He has written many other articles in professional publications and magazines. Mr. Bender is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Sections of the American, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations.
