    AREAS OF PRACTICE

    Mr. Hartz has more than 25 years of experience in the full range of employment and labor law issues, including employment discrimination, sexual harassment, affirmative action, employment at will, union organizing and election campaigns, National Labor Relations Board practice, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and state Fair Employment Practice agencies, wage and hour, collective bargaining, arbitration, and Occupational Safety and Health Act matters. He has devoted considerable time to counseling large and small companies in organizational and workforce restructuring, stressing preventive planning, and litigation avoidance. He has also advised jointly trusteed Taft-Hartley employee benefit funds, and has litigated in federal and state courts, as well as before administrative agencies and arbitration forums. Mr. Hartz's specialized industry experience includes representation of enterprises with local, national, and international operations in the publishing, retail, energy, hotel, manufacturing, and consumer products industries.

    PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES

    Mr. Hartz is active in professional association and continuing legal education activities, particularly regarding development of the law of employment at will and employee privacy as a member of the Employee Rights and Responsibilities Committee of the Labor Law Section of the American Bar Association, and as a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. Mr. Hartz is an author of Lawgic's Employee Handbook, New York edition, an interactive software program designed for attorneys and human resource professionals.
