Seger is a full-service employee relations lawyer who negotiates collective bargaining agreements, handles union organizational drives, develops Affirmative Action Programs, and tries NLRB, employment discrimination, Boys Markets injunction, covenants not to compete and labor arbitration cases. He has worked extensively in a number of industries, including the healthcare, construction, professional sports, manufacturing, automotive, newspaper, longshoring, and air freight industries. He also devotes a significant portion of his practice to work in the public sector, which includes a full range of general and labor matters for municipalities, townships, and school districts. Mr. Seger has recently handled collective bargaining negotiations with teachers for both urban and suburban school districts, union organizational drives in the newspaper, nursing homes and intermodal transportation industries, and a multitude of employment-at-will litigation in numerous jurisdictions. Mr. Seger’s recent experience in the manufacturing sector includes the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements and trial of arbitrations involving subcontracting, plant closure and relocation, and a myriad of other issues. He also has defended numerous age, race, and sex discrimination charges on behalf of clients, has represented a number of newspapers in labor arbitrations and has counseled numerous clients on HMO solicitations. He handled a 25-day NLRB trial concerning the stevedoring industry in Toledo, Ohio, and has represented national air freight and courier corporations in numerous employee relations matters, such as labor arbitrations and NLRB proceedings of various types in cities across the United States. Mr. Seger has also devoted a substantial portion of his practice to general litigation matters, with a particular emphasis on zoning cases and media access matters. Mr. Seger is a member of the Ohio Council of School Board lawyers and the American, Ohio, and Cuyahoga County Bar Associations. He has served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Baker Hostetler Labor Newsletter and authored “The Majority Status of Incumbent Bargaining Representatives,” 47 Tul. L. Rev. 961.
