Lance T. Mason(Of Counsel)Baker & Hostetler LLP Lawyer Profile Lance Mason, as Of Counsel in the firm’s Litigation Group, concentrates his practice in Employment, Business Crimes and Corporate Investigations. Mr. Mason dedicates his practice to litigation matters, especially in the areas of resolving employment law and business crime issues. Mr. Mason has wide-ranging civil and criminal litigation experience in multiplaintiff employment discrimination and multidefendant criminal matters. He has successfully represented clients before federal and state courts in all facets of employment law, including age, race and gender discrimination and harassment. Prior to joining Baker Hostetler, Mr. Mason served both as an Assistant Prosecuting lawyer for Cuyahoga County and as a defense lawyer. As such, Mr. Mason investigated, prosecuted and defended a wide range of felony cases, including homicide, felonious assault, narcotics and firearm offenses, burglary, kidnapping and theft. During his tenure as a prosecutor and defense lawyer, Mr. Mason obtained favorable results in numerous jury and bench trials. Mr. Mason also served as the District Director for Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones. As District Director, Mr. Mason managed the office and staff, reported directly to the Congresswoman and was her primary representative in the 11th Congressional District. Mr. Mason currently serves as the State Senator of District 25 in Ohio. In this position, Mr. Mason is serving in leadership as the assistant minority whip, while also serving on the Energy and Public Utilities, Environment and Natural Resources, Judiciary—Criminal Justice (Ranking Minority Member), Judiciary—Civil Justice and Rules Committees.
