Joyce Ackerbaum Cox, a partner in Baker Hostetler's Orlando office, focuses her practice on advising and representing employers in a wide variety of employment issues. She litigates matters involving discrimination and harassment claims, as well as disputes arising out of employment and non-compete agreements. Additionally, she handles cases, provides consultation and conducts audits on accessibility compliance under the Americans with Disabilities Act for both public and private employers. Finally, she frequently advises and trains employers on issues including employment policies and procedures, proper hiring, disciplining and termination methods, sexual harassment, the Americans With Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act and Wage and Hour issues.

Ms. Ackerbaum Cox has trial and arbitration experience and has argued successfully before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Additionally, she was listed in Florida Trend's Legal Elite as one of the “Best Up-and-Coming Attorneys in 2004,” she was recently listed in The Best Lawyers in America 2007 edition, and she was ranked as one of the nation's leading employment and labor lawyers by Chambers USA.

Ms. Ackerbaum Cox is a board member of the Jewish Community Center and a member of the Orange County Bar Association (Labor & Employment Law Section), Florida Bar, Federal Bar Association and she previously served on the Grievance Committee for the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division.
