Lawyer Profile
Mr. Skinner has practiced since 1967 in the areas of labor and employment law. He has extensive trial experience in both state and federal courts, as well as appellate court practice, including the United States Supreme Court. He has also represented clients before state and federal agencies such as the NLRB, the OFCCP, OSHA, the EEOC, and the Wage and Hour Division of the U.S. Department of Labor.

In addition to providing on-site management training for companies, Mr. Skinner has been a featured speaker at numerous seminars and management association conferences, including programs sponsored by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, the Institute for Continuing Legal Education in Georgia, the American Society for Personnel Administration, and the National Association of Bankers.

Mr. Skinner works with clients in virtually all phases of labor and employment law, including:

  • Defending companies in both federal and state courts against claims arising under Title VII, the FMLA, the FLSA, ERISA, OSHA, the ADEA, and the ADA.

  • Assisting with preventive maintenance programs designed to reduce exposure to employment-related claims.

  • Developing alternative dispute resolution programs aimed at significantly reducing the costs associated with administrative charges and court actions.


  • Working with employers -- private and public -- to stay union-free.
    Assisting companies in the preparation of policies, procedure manuals, and supervisor training programs.


  • Working with companies on union campaigns and decertification elections.
    Advising clients regarding grievance proceedings and representing companies at arbitration hearings.


  • Negotiating collective bargaining agreements.
